CHANTA SREYMICH

My name is Chantha Sreymich, and I am from Banteay Meanchey Province, the oldest of two siblings. My parents have been migrant workers in Thailand for 17 years now, working very hard but only earning enough to support our basic needs. I barely see them throughout those years, so my sister and I have lived with our grandparents. I finished high school in 2022 and desperately wanted to go to university in Phnom Penh, but I knew my parents could never afford it and I lost all hope.

One day, I heard about the scholarship at Global Children through Som Sovan and submitted my application. Once I was accepted, I was beyond excited and all my hopes and dreams came back to me. I would like to thank Global Children and Ms. Laura Sackler for making my long-lasting dream come true. I promise that I will do my utmost best to complete school and make my parents proud after all their years of sacrifice in Thailand.
