I am the second of four siblings from Preah Vihear Province. Before coming to Global Children, I lived with my chronically ill grandmother in a small village. She could only do light labor jobs, which wasn’t enough to feed three grandchildren or support our education. We often lacked food and relied on neighbors for help. My older brother had to stop studying to work and support the family, while I continued attending school despite it being far from home. I dreamed of finishing high school and becoming a doctor, but our financial situation made this seem impossible.
Fortunately, Global Children Cambodia accepted me into their care, completely changing my life. I now have food, shelter, and people who care for me like family. I am currently studying Nursing, working hard without worrying about basic needs, and finally feel safe, loved, and hopeful about my future. I am deeply grateful to Ms.
Laura Sackler and all the donors who have given me the chance to pursue my dream, and I hope one day to give back to my community the way they have helped me.
