From: Banteay Meanchey Province
Major: Public Administration
School: Royal University of Law & Economics

My name is Hom Lihak, and I was born in the capital of Banteay Meanchey Province. I come from a family with limited means. I have four siblings, and I am the third child.
My parents are farmers. While I was studying in high school, my father faced many hardships because he was the sole provider for our family. He worked tirelessly and even took on construction labor jobs to earn just enough money to support my education through to Grade 12, which I completed in 2022. After finishing high school, I was deeply worried because my parents could not afford to send me to university.
A few months later, at the end of 2022, I was incredibly fortunate to receive a life-changing opportunity from Global Children Cambodia, who awarded me a scholarship to continue my studies at university. This scholarship allowed me to pursue the field I had dreamed of since childhood. Today, I am a university student in my third year, studying Public Administration at the Royal University of Law and Economics. Over the past few years, I have gained a great deal of new knowledge and valuable learning experiences. I am also proud to share that I now have a good job as an Assistant Risk Strategy Officer at a company in Cambodia.
