My name is Ream Mahatep Sovann Mony. I am 20 years old and originally from Battambang province. I am the eldest child in a family of five. My father is 60 years old and works as a farmer. My mother is 39 years old and currently works in a factory in Thailand. I have a younger brother who is 18 years old and currently a 12th-grade student, and a younger sister who is 16 years old and studying in 10th grade. After I completed grade 12, my family could not afford to support my further education because they needed to prioritize expenses for my two younger siblings and other household costs. At that time, I felt deeply discouraged seeing others continue their studies. I decided to find work to help support my family and pursue my dream of attending university.
What happened next was truly amazing: I was selected to join Global Children Cambodia. I was overjoyed because my dream was becoming a reality. Today, I am a second-year university student studying Marketing at the National University of Management. Living at Global Children Cambodia, I have met people who love me like family and provide warmth and support. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to experience life as a university student.
